Each Spring, Wildflowers Pave Mesa's Nearby Hiking Trails And The Desert Overflows With Hues Of Red, Purple, Orange, Yellow And Blue – All Accompanied By The Vibrant Green Shades Of Arizona's Indigenous Desert Flora.
There is something especially magical about desert wildflowers.
Full pastures of these beautiful flowers continue to blossom every Spring in places you would never imagine. Blooms are usually at their peak in mid-March but can start as early as February. The desert becomes filled with hues of red, purple, orange and blue – all accompanied by Arizona’s lushes of green, indigenous desert flora.
The most common wildflowers can be found at various elevations in our surrounding desert. These flowers include:

- Cactus Blossoms
- Chicory
- Chuparosa
- Fairy Duster
- Desert Marigold
- Desert Mallow
- Lupine
- Mexican Gold Poppy

Parque Regional de la Montaña Usery

Join the rangers at Usery Mountain Regional Park for guided hikes to learn about the blooming wildflowers throughout the spring. These nature walks are great for getting outdoors and truly stopping to smell the roses!

San Tan Mountain Regional Park

Flourishing in flowers, San Tan Mountain Regional Park has a host of monthly calendar events which include guided walks through the desert to help identify specific wildflowers in the spring.

Lost Dutchman State Park

Located at the base of the Superstition Mountains, its proximity to the city is alluring and convenient to Spring wildflower admirers. Typically covered in wildflowers during the springtime, Lost Dutchman State Park is normally a reliable home to gorgeously colorful flowers.

Peralta Regional Park

This park holds several different trails throughout it, all of which are family friendly. Many of these trails are also great for mountain biking as well. Visitors can utilize bathrooms, camping sites, picnic tables and BBQ pits that are lined throughout the park. Visitors can enjoy the beautiful wildflowers scattered throughout the park.
